At the airport
21st May: Arrived at Amsterdam.
The plane that brought us safely to Amsterdam....
Outside the airport (Schiphol Airport)...
We didnt waste any time and headed off to Kinderdijk before checking into our youth hostels.
What is at Kinderdijk?
Toy Windmills?
No! REAL WINDMILLS!
I was quite surprised to hear that the initial reason for having windmills is to dry the land as Netherlands is below the sea level. All along I thought that it was solely for the purpose of generating electricity! Also many of us would have thought that windmills are all over the land of Netherlands but that is not true. In my trip, I only saw windmills in Kinderdijk!Our first accomodation: Hotel O' Theek
First accomodation was in Eindhoven. I like Eindhoven the most. I think its a really safe and cosy town. We were quite happy when we first saw it cos it looked pretty on the outside and looks cosy as well.
But inside...
Ok..it didnt look that bad inside as well...there were 2 decent beds, one cupboard and a sink. But poor Benny and Alvin have to carry our luggages 2 stories up! heez..sometimes Im real glad Im a gal...enjoying all the privileges that a gal is entitled to but of cos we truly appreciate the hard labour that they have done. :)
