Before I start blabbering about my Europe trip, have a good news to announce: I got my Medicinal Chemistry Scholarship! Hmm..didnt feel especially happy or estactic about it...I guess the fyp grades have made me so disappointed and disheartened about studies and lab that even something like that doesnt cheer me up. But I do feel more secure now that my direction has been set, at least I know where I'm heading. Enough of these, its journal writing time!:
22nd May:
That day was a visit to TU/e which stands for Technical University of Eindhoven. Half the day was lectures and lectures and lectures. So not many photos to show except some campus photos.

There's a river right in the middle of the campus!

At their cafetaria
The other half of the day was spent touring the Philip museum. Philips is a very reputable man in Holland and the TU/e was closely related to the Philips company where I think some of their research work are actually done with the help of the students. It was quite an eye-opener to see how light bulbs were being made in the past by very manual work...and contrasted with the machineries that are used later. I shall not bore you with many photos...
The workroom in the past
Inside the museum, there was also an area where they showcase pieces of artwork that uses light elements in them. Tot some of them were quite interesting.
This art piece was suppose to depict how light could bring warmth to a very cold room like this...
After touring, we went back to the University to have a drink. They have a bar kind of thing in the campus and about 3-5, they will start selling beer, burgers and chips. For us, it was free so the guys especially Benny was practically standing next to the beer stand to get cups n cups of beer. I like the beer there myself cos it wasnt bitter and strangely I did not get an allergic reaction from it (usually my whizzing will come when I take alchol).

For dinner, we went to a really nice and posh restaurant. It was really sweet of the university to treat us to such a nice meal and I thought that was the best meal we had in our whole trip.
Love the bread!

The appetizer alone was enough to fill our stomach and it was larger than the main course!
The best appettizer ever!

Main course: Beef Stew
Main course was really small..Ha! but by the time we finished our appettizer, we have no space for main course!
Desserts was huge too with many different types on a plate and each plate was shared by 2 people. I had mine with Diana...look at our greedy faces.
